Privacy Policy

Overview

GridGraph Lite is a free graph paper generator. It does not require an account, does not show ads, does not sell personal information, and does not intentionally collect personal information from students.

Information Users Provide Directly

GridGraph Lite does not currently ask users for a name, email address, age, school name, username, password, payment information, uploads, photos, location, comments, or posts. Users may type an academic question into the optional AI Help box. If someone emails the contact address, the site operator may receive their email address and message contents in order to respond.

Graph Paper Settings and PDF Generation

Users may choose graph paper settings such as paper size, grid type, cell size, margins, axes, labels, colors, and similar options. These settings are processed in the user's browser to generate the graph paper output and PDF export. They are not used to create user accounts or profiles.

Client-Side Tools

GridGraph Lite may provide browser-based tools such as an image converter and HTML viewer. Image files selected for conversion are processed in the user's browser and are not intentionally uploaded to GridGraph Lite. HTML snippets pasted into the viewer are rendered in a sandboxed browser frame. If a snippet references external resources such as images, fonts, stylesheets, or links, the user's browser may request those external resources from third parties.

AI Help

If a user submits a question through the AI Help box, the question is sent to OpenRouter so an AI model can generate a response. Users should not include sensitive personal information in questions. AI responses may be inaccurate and should be checked before relying on them.

AI systems can be prompted, manipulated, or influenced by user input and third-party model behavior. GridGraph Lite does not guarantee that AI responses are correct, complete, unbiased, safe, or appropriate for any particular purpose.

Cookies and Browser Storage

GridGraph Lite does not intentionally use cookies or browser storage to track users. The site uses localStorage only to remember the selected light or dark theme on the user's device. GridGraph Lite does not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies.

Hosting and Technical Logs

GridGraph Lite is hosted on Netlify. Like most hosting providers, Netlify may process basic technical information needed to deliver the site, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and operate its services. This may include IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, timestamps, and error logs. GridGraph Lite does not use hosting logs to identify individual students.

GitHub Development and Deployment

The site's source code and deployment workflow may be connected to GitHub. GitHub is used for development and deployment, not to collect information from ordinary site visitors. If users visit the GitHub repository directly, GitHub's own policies apply.

Porkbun Domain and Email Forwarding

The gridgraphlite.xyz domain is registered through Porkbun, and Porkbun may provide email forwarding for messages sent to GridGraph Lite contact addresses. If someone emails contact@gridgraphlite.xyz, the message may be forwarded through Porkbun to a Gmail inbox so the operator can read and respond.

Google Search Console

Google Search Console is used to understand how GridGraph Lite appears in Google Search, fix indexing issues, and improve site visibility. Google Search Console is not the same as Google Analytics. GridGraph Lite does not use Google Analytics or advertising tracking unless this policy is later updated.

Children's Privacy

GridGraph Lite is intended to be usable by students without requiring them to provide personal information. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information to us, they can contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

How Information Is Used

Limited information may be used to operate and display the website, generate graph paper outputs, provide AI Help responses when requested, apply basic rate limiting, maintain security and prevent abuse, troubleshoot bugs, respond to emails, and understand search indexing through Google Search Console. We do not sell personal information, do not use personal information for targeted advertising, and do not require accounts.

Sharing Information

GridGraph Lite may process limited information through service providers that help operate the site, including Netlify for hosting, serverless functions, and basic rate limiting; OpenRouter for optional AI Help responses; Porkbun for domain and email forwarding; Google Search Console for search indexing and performance; GitHub for development and deployment; and Gmail or Google account services for receiving forwarded contact emails. These providers are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, including their own data handling, security, retention, abuse-prevention, and model-improvement practices.

Data Retention

GridGraph Lite does not create user accounts or maintain user profiles. Emails sent to the contact address may be retained as long as needed to respond, keep records, prevent abuse, or manage the project. AI Help requests, rate-limit data, and technical logs may be processed or retained by service providers according to their own policies.

Security

Reasonable measures are used to keep the site secure, including HTTPS through the hosting and domain setup. No website or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.

User Choices and Rights

Users can use GridGraph Lite without creating an account, can choose not to email the operator, and can request deletion of emails or personal information they sent. Parents and guardians may contact the operator about children's information. Depending on location, users may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or limit use of personal information.

International Users

GridGraph Lite is operated from the United States, and information may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date will show the latest version.
